Haiden Cowan follows Lucas Oil to Smoky Mountain; Gavin Cowan fourth with Ultimate SE at Halifax County
With a quick turnaround from the Dirt Late Model Dream, Haiden Cowan joined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the Mountain Moonshine Classic.
With 42 Late Models checked in for Friday's $10,000-to-win opener, Cowan did not make the A-Main after a sixth-place outing in his B-Main.
Hoping to find more speed on Saturday, Haiden once again found himself with a sixth-place finish in the B-Main.
Making his third-start behind the wheel of the Rum Runner Racing No. 2 machine, Gavin Cowan was one of 15 Ultimate Super Late Models at Halifax County Motor Speedway (Littleton, N.C.) on Saturday.
Starting the $5,000-to-win feature from the second-row, Gavin lost one position to finish inside the Top-5 in fourth. He trailed Michael Rouse, Gray Parton, and Dustin Mitchell while Christian Thomas completed the Top-5.
Wrapping up the extended weekend at Ultimate Motorsports & RV Park (Elkin, N.C.) on Sunday, Cowan started 12th in the $15,000-to-win main event and finished just outside the Top-10 in 11th.
